summer 2011 / week 1
Thanks for sticking with me in my mission to "promote play and encourage family outdoor time." I wouldn't do it without all of your cheering me on.
park news
The renovations at
Dinosaur Park in Laguna Hills are complete. Lots more rubber play surface and no more water play. Darn!
The entrance to the
San Joaquin Wildlife Sanctuary is now off Campus Drive (rather than Riparian Way) due to construction for the next year.
I also had a reader comment that the "real" restrooms are complete at
Harriett Wieder Park in Huntington Beach (but I haven't been there to confirm.)
my new favorite snack
Henry's Marketplace has some amazing tortilla chips and salsa. I'm addicted. I make them extra yummy by heating a bowl of chips in the microwave for 30 seconds before serving with the salsa!
new radio
Have you heard the new Playlist 92.7 on the radio? It's bringing back lots of memories with old 80's tunes.
metrolink weekends
Through the end of June, Metrolink offers a special ticket package for a family of 4 to travel together for $29 on Saturdays and Sundays. San Juan Capistrano, San Clemente, or Olde Town Orange are great destinations for family play trips.
