Dear Friends,
Thank you for your feedback and your encouraging words about the newsletter and website.
The month of August has been full of challenges affording me many opportunities to appreciate the gift of Reiki in my life. Reiki never fails to bring back harmony and balance no matter what life tosses my way peace reigns in the midst of chaos.
I have also been fortunate to enjoy a few wonderful reflexology sessions, what a treat to lie back and have my feet expertly massaged! Kirsteen's healing hands have the combination of the Reiki energy flowing through during the relexology treatment, it is so relaxing.
Kirsteen is still looking for a few more feet to complete her case studies so if you are keen for a treat her special offer of two sessions for the price of one is still available. For an appointment call Kirsteen on 079 8461 280 Email: kirstsa@live.com for more information.
Wishing you a blessed month of September
Love always
Christine

Beliefs
" Beliefs are surrogate truths; Knowing is a direct inner experience of truth."
Helen Keller
Where do our beliefs stem from?
If we go along with the idea that our most fundamental Beliefs about ourselves are set by the time we reach of age of two. Then there is no question that most of our fundamental beliefs comes from our parents or whoever was taking care of us during these impressionable years. Afterwards our teachers, religious leaders and peers had additional input. And later on our own experience of life based on those beliefs either reinforces or disproves those beliefs.
Conditioning has a crucial part in the formation of our beliefs. When we work from the premises that we are totally dependent on our caretakers when we are little, then maybe we buy into their beliefs purely because our survival depends on that. The fact that we do so unconsciously and from a limited perspective is what dictates our 'interesting' lives thereafter. When we buy into their belief and behave according to their belief we get their approval and after a while it becomes second nature: We have been conditioned to do it their way it is the only way we know how to belong and be safe.
Sadly for most the conditioning was fear based and negative and in one form or another we carry a negative belief about ourselves that we are not good enough in whatever form this might manifest for each individual. We all have positive fundamental beliefs which counteract the negative ones, we are born with a deep knowing of this unconscious belief, it is not an acquired belief; it simply is but because it was not conscious or acknowledged much by our surroundings that tend to reinforce the negative rather than the positive it got buried so very deep down that on a conscious level we do not believe it anymore.
Beliefs are the results of the judgments we made about our experiences of life on a hearing, seeing, feeling, sensing and touching level. These beliefs are stored in the subconscious mind. And throughout our life we refer to this information. The subconscious mind is nonjudgmental and stores the information and brings it out exactly the same way it was stored. The conscious mind on the other hand discriminates and judges. By bringing an unconscious belief out of the subconscious into the conscious mind one can examine the belief that has been stored, make a judgment as to whether it is an empowering or a self-limiting belief and make the necessary amendments and spring clean. The relationship between the subconscious and the conscious mind would have to be intimate for one to live a responsible healthy life; if the negative beliefs remain unconscious it could result in depression, anger, fear or any number of diseases.
Our beliefs dictate our behavior, feelings and attitudes in many different ways and affect the results we achieve in our lives. An unconscious belief will engender a knee jerk reaction and when we are not aware of what causes these reactions we feel victimized and point finger. This kind of behavior clouds our judgment and disempowers us. A negative belief can hold us back and stop us from achieving our potential and a positive belief will empower one to become limitless and live a life of purpose.
When our social conditioning clashes with our inner knowing we experience inner conflict. What are your beliefs? Are you aware of them? Are you living a life of purpose exploring your God given talents and sharing it with the world? Are your decisions based in fear or love?
Life Coaching creates a safe space where we can explore our beliefs examine them and make a conscious decision about whether they serve us or limit us and whether they contribute to our wellbeing and add value to our life. After all we are responsible for our life and we decide the outcome. Isn’t it is wise to do it consciously?
