Prayer Requests

We're so grateful for all of you who are praying for us during this time!  Of course, we're in no greater need of prayer now than we have been in years gone by.  However, I do think we're more conscious of our need for prayer than ever before.  The enormity of our task - both here as we raise funds and the one waiting for us in Japan - is overwhelming to think about.  It'd be foolish to think we could possibly raise this kind of money during a tough economy, and it's equally foolish to think our little family can make any real impact in a country where 95.5% of the people aren't believers.  It'd be foolish, that is, unless there really is a God in heaven who's called us to do this.  If that's true, it changes everything!

So, thank you for praying.  That's where the real ground will be taken and where the real, lasting work will be done - as God's people ask him to move in Japan.  Thank you for being a part of this missionary endeavor with us.

As you know from our newsletter, Gina and I will be attending "Living in Grace" in Asheville next week.  LIG is a week-long spiritual retreat that MTW requires for all missionaries prior to departing for the field.  We've heard great things about the week, and expect the Holy Spirit to work in our hearts in some very tangible ways.  Would you pray to that end?  Ask the Holy Spirit to make us soft and receptive during times of worship, study, and times with our mentors.  Ask him to help us repent and rest more of our weight in the promises of God and the great Gospel of Jesus.  And pray that He would use the week to strengthen our marriage and walk with Christ.  If you're interested in a quick glimpse of LIG, you can wactch an online video by clicking here.

If we have internet access at the conference, I'll use facebook and our web site to communicate specific prayer requests and updates during the week.

Thank you again for your partnership with us through prayer!

Grace and Peace,

Jeremy, Gina, Joshua, Josiah, and Garrett
