Did you know?

The oldest buildings on campus (except for Freedom's Hill) are Childs Hall and Correll Hall, both constructed in 1947. Childs Hall was named for President John Frank Childs, who died while on a medical leave of absence in 1945. A men's dormitory for more than half a century, it was renovated in 2002 and converted to a women's dorm. Correll Hall was originally the Bridwell Library.  After Rickman Library was built in 1975, the old library was remodeled and renamed in memory of W. D. Correll, a key figure in the university's early history. Correll Hall now houses administrative offices.

He is part of a ministry called “The Bridge Project,” an outreach to the East Side neighborhood of Asheboro, N.C. LeRoy commented that God delights not in a physical temple, but in a spiritual temple made up of his people. Spiritual emphasis services took place at Newton Hobson Chapel on Southern Wesleyan’s campus in Central. Near the beginning of each semester, the university conducts spiritual emphasis services, providing a time of spiritual examination and growth.
