CPS Building update

CPSWe recently discovered our elevator has issues that we need to repair. The state expedited our approval and within days our facilities services contracted the repairs so that we could have the work done prior to the start of school. Unfortunately, because of the scope of the project, the elevator will not be useable until September 2. CPS 014 and CPS 109 are available as temporary offices for faculty or students to work and to meet.

Marty's Message

I love the excitement that “move-in day” brings to our campus, and I encourage you to visit campus next weekend when it happens. If you are interested, a quick call or email to Kris Hoffenberger in the Residential Living Office will get you a spot as a volunteer at one of our residence halls.

If you decide to volunteer you will see trucks piled high with stereos, mattresses and mini fridges; parents trying to keep stride with their excited sons and daughters while balancing five boxes, two lamps and a new set of bath towels in their arms; and confused looking students walking the halls to find the classrooms where they will need to be at 9 a.m. on Tuesday morning.

You will also see a few tears that are shed when parents leave; but don’t worry, those tears are quickly replaced with the sound of laughter and loud music of freedom.

You will also make a lasting impression on everyone who you come into contact with. Hope to see you there!

Dean, CPS
