Green Adelaide
This is a new state government agency focusing on 'metropolitan Adelaide through increased efforts to green and cool our back yards, streets and neighbourhoods, enhance biodiversity and create open and healthy green spaces for everyone.'
Purslane (Portulaca oleracea), also known as pigweed, is an annual plant that grows like a ground cover. The leaves are tasty and nutritious. Purslane can be eaten raw, for example in salads, and it can be cooked by stir frying or steaming.But you might have to wait until summer for it to appear in your garden.
