Notice To All Residents:

Community Update

Dear Resident(s),

Good Afternoon and Happy Wednesday!

Other States are experiencing terrible second waves of COVID-19. There is reasonable fear NYC will also experience a second wave because our neighbors are pushing the limits. Gateway needs to do its part and follow the rules. Now is not the time to become complacent.

Acknowledgement: The 7pm clap was great while it lasted! There are so many individuals who have been heroes during this pandemic. Gateway is filled with many of these heroes. Thank you so much for your service and dedication, both during these trying times and all year round.

Face Coverings: It is very important that when within interior common areas of Gateway that you wear a face covering. The location with the biggest problem is currently the laundry rooms. All residents, employees, and guests must comply with the face covering requirements. Wearing a mask on your chin is not acceptable or effective. Face coverings needs to be worn consistently and completely when social distancing cannot be achieved.

Elevator Use: As a reminder, only 4 adults should occupy an elevator at a time. If the elevator has 4 people, kindly wait for the next one. It will protect you and your neighbors! When in an elevator, you must use a face covering. If moving in or out, or receiving any large deliveries, it is essential that you make an elevator reservation weeks in advance

Apartment Door Locks: We are going to start up the apartment door lock replacement project in building 355 (also called the 200 building). Each apartment is being fitted with a new brushed silver lever door lock and a new doorbell/viewer. The new locks will provide increased security and are part of a state-of-the-art Keytrak system. We will be installing locks on floors 14 through 18 on the following dates: 7/29, 8/5, 8/6, 8/12, and 8/13. The installation usually takes about one hour. When you make an appointment we can provide you with two keys prior to the install, and provide you with up to two additional keys based on the keys returned. If you need more keys than you currently have, there will be a charge for the additional keys. You can specify morning (9am to 12pm) or afternoon (1pm to 4pm) for your appointment. Send appointment requests to maintenance@gatewayny.com

Smoking: Smoking anywhere in Gateway's interior or exterior common areas is prohibited. This includes the North Lawn and Roof Terrace. We will be posting additional No Smoking signage in common areas as a reminder. Security and building staff have been directed to keep a closer eye on the situation. Be advised that smoking in your apartment is considered "Objectionable Conduct" if it affects neighboring apartments.

Personal Items Left In Common Areas: There has been an increase of residents leaving personal items on Gateway mail room tables for others, creating a form of bartering in the buildings. We ask that you refrain from leaving anything on the mail room tables. Such activities increase the potential spread of Coronavirus. Maintenance personnel and specialty contractors are pushing hard every day to keep Gateway clean and safe. Part of the increased cleaning program is to minimize or eliminate non-essential items/activities so we can better focus on high-touch areas.

Dog Etiquette: Reminder: you must curb your dog outside of the Gateway grounds. If your dog has an accident inside of a Gateway building, please let your doorman know so we can get things cleaned up in a timely manner.

Bicycle Thefts: There has been a rash of bicycles stolen from the exterior areas of Gateway. If you have a bike stored anywhere onsite, we recommend you check that your bike is still secured. It seems the heavy-duty U-bolts and Kryptonite chain locks are the most effective against theft. The stolen bikes all had a cable-style lock. We are working with the NYPD to see if we can identify the individual(s) responsible for the stolen bicycles. We do have some limited indoor bicycle storage available. These rooms are located in the basement of buildings 355 & 395. Both of these rooms are/will be fitted with a combination door lock.

Signs: We will be updating and refreshing signage throughout Gateway over the next several days. Carpets in elevators and some lobby areas will also be replaced.

The Gateway Roof Terrace and North Lawn outdoor areas are open. When using these areas, it is imperative that we all follow the rules below as well as those posted at each location. In order for the spaces to remain open, we have to collectively do better. We understand the temptation to relax and enjoy the fresh air and lovely weather, but the health and safety of our community has to come first.

When using the Roof Terrace and North Lawn, please:
  • CDC Social Distancing and Face Covering compliance are required
  • No Ball Playing or Sports Activities – anything more than a yoga mat in a small remote area is considered non-compliance.
  • No Personal Trainers or extensive exercise/workout routines
  • No Dogs/Pets
  • Tables, Chairs, and Benches set up on the turf should remain on the turf. This furniture is spaced for social distancing and should not be moved.
  • Gatherings of more than five people in one group is prohibited. Don’t move tables or chairs to create a group gathering of more than FIVE people. The Gateway community must continue to do its part to allow these openings to be a success. Compliance with CDC, NYC & Gateway regulations are essential. Respect for your neighbors and the use of common sense is equally important.

Roof Terrace: Open Monday - Friday from 9:00am to 8:00pm. Wifi is gateway100
North Lawn: Opening Monday - Friday from 9:00am to 8:00pm. Wifi is gateway400
Weekend and Holiday Hours for both areas are 10:00am to 8:00pm

Maintenance Items
  • Air Conditioners:  It is important to maintain clean filters in your apartment air conditioners. The filters pull out from the top area of the cover. These filters can be cleaned in the sink with water and a paper towel. It is okay to put the filter back if it is wet. It is also important to make sure there is no furniture or personal belongings within two feet of the air conditioner. If you would like to set up an appointment to clean your air conditioner filters please contact Gateway management. This service will take about 15 minutes.
  • Elevator Reservations: If you need an elevator for a special use like moving or receiving new furniture it is very important that you make a reservation. Please make an appointment at least two weeks prior to the date you are requesting. The best way to make an appointment is to email us directly at maintenance@gatewayny.com

Building Operations Update

Gateway building staff continues to hold up well. We greatly appreciate the continued kind words and gestures directed toward the Gateway building staff. The building staff continues to focus on frequent daily cleanings of all high touch areas. We have ample protective equipment for all building staff, and a very good supply of hand sanitizer, medical grade disinfectants and bleach products to help us complete increased cleaning of all high-touch surfaces and common areas. We continue to hire outside contractors to perform special cleanings.

The Club at Gateway Update

We are currently working on a re-opening plan. More details will be released in the coming weeks- we are getting close!

Gateway Pool Is Now Open
As a reminder, pool reservations are made on the resident portal. This is the same portal where you enter your maintenance requests. It is located under the Concierge Tab and Reservations. You will need to make a separate reservation for your preferred time frame per person over the age of 4. This is necessary for occupancy and billing purposes. Putting the information in the notes section does not guarantee an additional seat. You will receive a confirmation email once each reservation is fully booked. If you do not receive a confirmation email, your reservation has not been completed, and your spot has not been reserved. Only booking one reservation will not guarantee an additional reservation for your one (1) permitted guest or additional occupant(s). While there is limited walk-in availability, this is first come, first serve and is not guaranteed.

The pool will be limited to 32 chairs and 46 people. There will be four (4) two-hour sessions each day so multiple individuals can use the pool. Reminder: you will need to make a reservation for each person in your party. For example, if you and your spouse are going to the pool you will need to make two reservations. If you cannot make a reservation, it likely means that online reservations are fully booked for that time. For any questions, call The Club directly, Tuesday - Saturday, 9:30am - 4:30pm at (212) 915-2216

Proposed Schedule:
Tuesday - Sunday: 9:30 - 11:30. 12:00 - 2:00. 2:30 - 4:30. 5:00 - 7:00.
Pricing:
$10 Tuesday - Friday
$15 Saturdays, Sundays, Holidays
