Young writers award open now

All Western Australian school students, from years one to twelve, are challenged to submit an original story into the 2020 Tim Winton Award for Young Writers. These awards are in their twenty-eighth year and foster creativity and imagination in young people with an emphasis on storytelling.

Entries will be judged on their originality, story development and writing quality by a panel of local authors, educators and librarians. Finalists will be invited to a special awards ceremony in October and will receive prizes including books and vouchers. All finalist stories are exhibited at Subiaco Library and published on the City of Subiaco website.

Entries are now open, you have until 5.30pm on Friday 14 August to submit your entries via the Tim Winton Awards website.

Good luck young storytellers and let your imaginations run wild!
