First Pres’ anti-racism conversations continue on Sunday at 8:45am.
 We will be discussing the 2020 census with Roger Green.
 Like almost everything else, the 2020 decennial Census has been affected by the novel coronavirus. But its importance has not diminished. In fact, if anything, its import to underserved communities is greater than ever. Only an estimated 62.3% of households have responded nationwide. But there is still time to reply by phone, mail,
or online before enumerators are sent out in mid-August. 
 
Roger Green is a retired librarian and former representative to the NY State Data Center who has dealt with Census data extensively. He was an enumerator for the 1990 Census.

INSTRUCTIONS Facebook Live Streaming: we’ll normally start broadcasting about 3 to 5 minutes before the service (so 9:55–9:57) with Trevor’s prelude. Any time after that go the main Facebook page for First Presbyterian Church of Albany. Very close to the top (or maybe just by scrolling down slightly) you’ll see the video with the words “Live now” or something similar. Click on the video and it will open into a larger window and play.  So just stay on the First Pres home page, no need to go into Events or any other sub-page.
 HELPFUL TIP: if you don’t see the livestream on the home page, refresh / reload your browser screen.  Don’t hesitate to call Dwight Cheu at 518.469.1544 if you have any problems.
Opportunities
Parents of pre-schoolers through 5th graders: Join other FPC parents tonight, Thursday, July 23, at 9pm via zoom (see your email for zoom invite) for some time to touch base and discuss talking with our children about racial issues.

First Presbyterian Church is awarding Educational Grants to church members who seek financial assistance in continuing their education.  These funds may be used during the school year for any type of studies beyond high school.  A simple application can be obtained from the church office at info@firstpresalbany.org.  The dead line is September 1, 2020.
