FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

WASHINGTON DEPOT, CT - July 17, 2020

If you’re a science reporter, you may already know about Slooh. For those who don't, Slooh is a remote learning platform that teaches students and amateur astronomers to explore space via a network of online robotic telescopes. Slooh was the first to livestream celestial images in real-time. We partner with schools worldwide to provide this service, and it’s available to the public at www.slooh.com.

This matters to your readers because many of them probably live in light-polluted cities where they cannot see much of the night sky. We take them outside that bubble, and we need your help sharing this space mission with your readers!

Comet C/2020 F3 (NEOWISE) Star Party Livecast

Slooh's next mission is to livestream a Star Party featuring live telescope streams of the spectacular Comet NEOWISE. The comet now comes within reach of Slooh's huge telescopes at its flagship observatory at the Institute of Astrophysics of the Canary Islands.

The Star Party commences on Saturday, July 18, at 5 PM EDT (21:00UTC). The general public can watch live on Slooh's Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube channels. Slooh members can personally join the Star Party at Slooh.com using Zoom to discuss the event with our expert hosts.

Slooh's Chief Astronomical Officer, Paul Cox, said: "It's a truly magical experience to witness such a large comet gracing our skies! We'll be telling viewers how they can see it from their backyards, and Slooh members will continue to watch it in Slooh's live telescope views every night this week.
