Here’s what we’ve been up to

PROGRAM SUCCESS! 

We are excited to announce that our GOAL Girls program (motherless teen daughters) had 9 amazing young ladies to successfully complete the program and Graduate from High School. These amazing young ladies are located in all 4 of the states that we service.  

Due to COVID-19 many students were unable to experience an actual graduation ceremony. We decided to celebrate our girls by hosting a Virtual Graduation Celebration and by asking for sponsors to provide them with a gift that would assist them in their future endeavors after graduation.  

We are elated to say that you guys, our amazing friends, came through once again. We received Sponsorships for our girls and because of your generosity we were able to purchase laptops, and other items that the young ladies were in need of for their transition to college or trade school.

ANNUAL 2020 EMPOWERMENT LUNCHEON GOES VIRTUAL

Every year during this time we are busy hosting our Mid-year fundraiser, our Annual Empowerment Awards Luncheon. This is our biggest fundraising event of the year.  As we all know COVID-19 has caused some major adjustments to our usual schedules. Well....we will not be defeated in our efforts to raise funds to support our teen girls.  

We’ve decided to host a Virtual Fundraiser/Zoom Reception. This event will kick off July 19, 2020 with a Support Drive and conclude with a Zoom Reception September 1, 2020 @6pm CDT. We are on a mission, with a goal is to raise $30,000 to cover our budget for the remainder of 2020. This is inclusive of our Back to School event, Secret Big Sister Holiday, Monthly Care Packages, and Training/Instruction.  WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT!

Tickets are on sale now for a donation of $100.00. This donation gives you access to the Zoom Reception. If we get just 300 donors to give $100 we will reach our goal! Thank you in advance for your continued support of America’s Big Sisters Foundation.

WE’RE ON THE MOVE DESPITE COVID-19 VIRTUAL SUMMER CAMP 

We’re excited to offer this amazing opportunity to our GOAL Girls, which includes the opportunity for some of our Chicago girls to join our team as interns through One Summer Chicago. The program also provides all GOAL girls with a virtual camp experience with Instructional courses for 4 weeks starting July 13, 2020.  

ALL GIRLS MATTER

In our continued efforts to make an impact in the lives of ALL teen girls this summer, we have decided to launch a 30 Day Motivation Call July 20-August 19.  The girls will call into our conference line every morning at 10 am CDT for 5 minutes of motivation. Remember, this is for all girls, so help us spread the word!
