  • Rys Rising Complete Series Box Set now available to Kobo Plus subscribers in Canada

I’ve been a heavy library user all of my life no matter where I lived. For years, I’ve visited my local Willard Library almost every week. On March 12, the library closed quickly and without notice. This made sense considering that it’s a busy public venue where everyone can touch whatever they want and take things home and touch them more before bringing them back for other people to touch. So, yeah. It needed to close its doors for an infectious disease pandemic.

It was not until the end of June that the library opened again. Last week, I got to actually go inside to pick up some items that I put on hold through its website. Because they have to limit capacity, a lady at the front door checked me in and noted my time because I would be limited to one hour. I told her how happy I was that the library was open again and explained how dismaying it had been when they shut down so rapidly. She told me that she and her co-workers had been ordered to immediately leave the premises. It was an “Everybody out now!” order. She had left half a cup of coffee on her desk.

For the foreseeable future, my local library will be limping along with adapted services just like everything else. I’m grateful to have access to the resource again.

How to Get My Ebooks at Your Library

If you’re the patron of a library with a digital collection, there’s a good chance that you can check out my ebooks and audiobooks through your library. Search for “Tracy Falbe” in the library’s digital collection. If your library has not acquired any of my titles yet, request them. Librarians generally try to satisfy requests from patrons. My digital titles are widely available to libraries at affordable prices through Overdrive, Bibliotheca, Tolino, and Baker & Taylor.

Summer/Winter Ebook Sale at Smashwords

Every July, Smashwords invites authors to participate in its sitewide sale that recognizes the retailer's international reach. In the Northern Hemisphere, heat waves are forcing people inside. Reading with the AC on, or at least a fan blowing, is a good way to stay cool. In the Southern Hemisphere, shorter days mean more time to read in the evening.
