We are hoping to make booking easier and more efficient for both online and in-person classes by implementing a service called Vagaro. Thank you for being patient while we adjust to this new process!

To help answer any questions about Vagaro, we are hosting an informational meeting on Zoom on Monday, July 20 at 7 PM. Joni and I would be happy to answer any questions you might have. Please contact us if you would like to join!

NEW! ONLINE BASIC STRENGTH CLASS

Certain exercises in the Gyrotonic Method (as well as almost any sport) require a "base" level strength. During online lessons during quarantine, in addition to the "Gyrotonic with a stick" exercises, I worked on basic strengthening exercises with my students that are based on developmental patterns and basic human movements. This approach was very successful, with many participants reporting less discomfort in certain joints and greater balance, endurance, muscle tone, and strength! The key is building strength without sacrificing mobility. Body weight and other props will be used (such as hand weights, foam rollers, dish towels, Therabands and other such bands).

Develop strength in basic human maneuvers: squats, lunges, planks, pull ups, and integrative core work. We will break down movements and apply mindfulness and Gyrotonic principles to decompress your joints and coordinate your entire body. Strength train the right way! This is a skill building class and students are encouraged to do the "homework"!

Class is ONLINE, however there is limited space for in-person class.

Class focus for Monday, July 20: Prepping for "back pedaling" in the GYROKINESIS® Method. We will begin with spinal motions on the stool and move on to psoas release and butt and hamstring strengthening. The goal is a more pleasurable and easy experience for these hip extension exercises!
