Riddle of the Day

Was Chris Old? was Barry White? was Buddy Rich? It's just that Stevie Wonders!
If you like making these up why not send in your best effort, we might well print it in a future bulletin.
Carl Honoré believes we're all missing out by stereotyping older people as "over the hill". He argues for recognition of the positive sides of ageing, and thinks everyone would benefit from more inter-generational mixing.
"Spending time with people of different ages makes us happier – and less ageist. After all, nothing shoots down stereotypes more than getting to know the people being stereotyped."
This is a very useful resource of activity tips and workout plans for women of all ages. It is now available in English and in 6 languages (Bengali, Urdu, Czech Slovak Mandarin Arabic).

There has been a lot of talk about loneliness, and often rather loosely, without really understanding what we mean by loneliness. The Psychology of Loneliness is a very helpful report from the Campaign to End Loneliness which clearly explains the difference between loneliness and social isolation, and offers very positive and practical ways of moving forward. It’s worth a read, especially for anyone who is working with older people or volunteering as a befriender.
Changing Places Toilets
The UK Government has now made it compulsory for new public buildings to install larger accessible toilets as a matter of routine.
Currently there are more than 1400 Changing Places toilets in the UK but this is still not sufficient. You can read the published document here. This change has come about through lobbying and confirms that we 'the public' can make a difference.
Do you have difficulty getting around safely when out and about?
