Marlborough Business Highlight:
Pathways Adult Day Health Care

Pathways Adult Day Health Care, located at 7911 Paseo Blvd, opened in May 2012 under the leadership of Deborah Washam, RN who saw the need for these services in our community. Ms. Washam selected this location in 1997 as a convenient hub for her in-home health care program which still operates today out of a different location. Pathways offer a variety of health, therapeutic, and social services to the disabled and seniors who need assistance or require supervised care in a protective setting during daytime hours.

Pathways is one of several quality care services offered for children through seniors by Bare Essentials Home Care, Inc. LaTonya Fisher is the current Executive Director of Bare Essentials and Pathways. Prior to the Coronavirus Pandemic, Pathways had a waiting list that exceeded their 20-person capacity.  Ms. Fisher shared that they currently average 40% participation due to the effects of the pandemic slowdown. Pathways employs a program director, a dietician/cook, a Registered Nurse, and a Personal Care Technician. Marlborough residents interested in learning about employment opportunities with Bare Essentials Home Care or the child care through adult care services they offers can visit http://www.bareessentialshomecare.net/ or call 816-333-4500.

When asked what Ms. Fisher likes best about having a business located in Marlborough, she shared “I like that Marlborough takes pride in its community apparent by the renovations and improvements taking place on the boulevard. I enjoy the services that are available in the area, specifically, Vee's Bakery and that there is an active coalition and neighborhood association for our community that meets monthly to help neighborhoods stay in touch and informed.”
