"It was past time for us, with or without irony, to be more divine; if we can guess what God’s benevolence might be it is because we guess at benevolence in ourselves, whatever sees the man before he succumbs to the sickness of crime."
Clarice Lispector

Our Happy Hour Online this week will be in Portuguese and we will dedicate the entire event to one of the works of Clarice Lispector that she liked most, the short story Mineirinho. Prepare your drink, your snack, and join us for an interpretation of the short story with movement and music.

*** This is a free online event.***

For those who can, please consider making a donation to support Group.BR and the artists involved.

The Zoom party D/BOA keeps evolving and getting better and it's now D/BOA - W/ONDERS! It continues with a great lineup featuring a variety of Brazilian rhythms and virtually connecting people while we need to be socially distant.
It is a great party and also a fundraising platform to support people in need. This week part of the raised funds goes to the Group .BR NY Brazilian Artists Fund and an organization in Brazil working for social justice through artCome party for a cause!

Group .BR New York Artists Fund will offer a one-time, first-come-first-served $250 donation to Brazilian artists in New York State impacted by COVID-19. It will also support Group .BR’s operations and online programming during social distance. We hope to help as many artists as possible. The more YOU give, the more WE give.

WAYS YOU CAN HELP

  • Donate. Every single dollar helps.
  • Share the campaign link with a short personal post about why this fundraising campaign is important.
  • Ask art supporters to donate.
  • Invite Brazilian artists in NY to apply.
  • Help us find donors, supporters, and artists in need.

Armazén Companhia de Teatro

IT LOOKS CRAZY BUT THERE IS A METHOD (PARECE LOUCURA MAS HÁ MÉTODO) is a kind of 'emergency theater play', an attempt at a creative response to the empty stages of these pandemic times. In a digital platform, 9 Shakespearean characters will face each other in an arena of ideas, all of which will be driven by the interventions of a Master of Ceremonies. The audience is encouraged to eliminate one of the players (that is, their story ends there). A game theater, which takes the viewer from a passive position and puts him at the center of the decision of our fable.
