 Centre Closed Through September 5th
 

Dear Beloveds,
 
The Board of Trustees met Sunday to discern the Centre’s reopening plans as we navigate the Covid-19 pandemic. The Survey was sent to over 150 people and 33 people responded.   There were 18 people that said they would come but would not adhere to all of the rules, and 15 people said no, they would not attend.  The Board considered these results as well as the fact that no air conditioning could be used in the hottest month of the year and the additional work needed for the staff to maintain a safe environment.  In addition we considered the current Covid numbers which increased in Trumbull County and the fact that churches are considered high risk due to being indoors in a group. With all of those considerations the Board of Trustees decided to hold off on reopening the Centre until September 5, at the earliest, but will also address it at the next board meeting scheduled for Sunday, August 16.
 
Our Sunday Services continue to be available on FB and the Web and we hope you are enjoying them and getting your spiritual food to keep you nourished!

Saturday: Leave the Church at 9:30 am or meet at Petroleum Center Parking Lot a 11:00 am  Bikers will head north and hikers will head south. This is a great park with lots of history.

Meet at 1:15 at Lilly pond parking lot
Old tree trail, lily pond and other trail Approx 4.5 miles

09/17/20 Appalachian Trail Hike Palmerton, PA
Thursday arrive at Evergreen Lake Campgrounds
Friday start hike at Lehigh River Bridge at rt 873 and hike 12.5 miles
Saturday start hike at Smith road and hike 8.1 miles
Sunday pack up and go home

We have been meeting virtually to chant and discuss Sanskrit mantras.  I am open to new topics that might be good for a 1-1/2 hour virtual meeting. We can share documents, take short breaks, etc. I believe we can also share virtual presentation files such as powerpoint presentations, etc.  

Personally, I am reading and practicing some of the breathing and consciousness meditations in Dr. Joe Dispenza’s Becoming Supernatual book. I’m interested in pursuing the study of the pineal gland/pituitary gland, and energy flow. This relates to ancient breath and meditation practices, including meditations, yoga, Golden Flower breathing meditations, etc. The Becoming Supernatural book, to me, describes in modern scientific descriptions, what the ancients already knew and practiced about the movement of energy up the spine, into the brain, and back down the front in a cycle. They may have had mystical experiences (even without external help) through stimulating the pituitary gland, and from the chemical changes involving melatonin, serotonin, and other related internally generated substances. I believe it is all related with respect to our body physiology, spirituality, consciousness, and other human body / spiritual practices and connections.
