August Dwelling
August. What a word. It is packed with meaning. It entails majesty brilliance, and divinity, Just ponder that for a moment.
Out of that pondering and pressing came a song. We pray that it invites you into His AUGUST DWELLING!
In 2018 my family and I received the startling news that I had stage 4b throat cancer. Of course it took our breath away as this was devastating news that no one ever wishes to hear. However, in my spirit I heard these words, “Be still and know, Jason”. This began a journey in our lives of melting into the very virtue and nature of Jesus… in a realm we had never known: Radical abiding. We began 35 radiation treatments and 6 chemo treatments. The intensity was at best unbearable. The result of such concentrated radiation made swallowing almost impossible. Each swallow, voluntary or involuntary, felt as if I was swallowing razor blades. I would still hear, “Be sill and know, Jason” In the face of death, I was finding a place of stillness and trust. Psalm 91 became my life source. Even when I was coughing up blood and tumor, I would sit at the piano and sing “I will abide inside Shaddai” over and over. This is where the heart cry of “August Dwelling” was birthed. “August Dwelling” became my hiding place. The August Presence. The majestic brilliance of Jesus. When we are seated there, He is our confidence! I pray this song can become a hiding place for those who are searching for Hope. We recorded this during the COVID 19 quarantine in our studio. We felt that this is such a strategic time to release this sound of relentless abiding. There is no safer place than the Presence of Jesus. May you too continually experience his August Dwelling.
