Young Innovators Awards 2020/21

Innovate Trust are looking for young people who would benefit most from the Young Innovators Awards, including the financial support and tailored package of expert advice and access to innovation tools and connections on offer. The financial support and tailored coaching and mentoring will be provided directly to the successful applicants.

Early-career innovation poster prize

The Sensors for Water Interest Group invites poster submissions for its early-career innovation prize. This recognises the best poster related to water sensor research.

Stockholm Water Prize

Amount: SEK 1,000,000
The Stockholm International Water Institute invites nominations for the Stockholm water prize. This honours individuals or organisations whose work contributes to the conservation and protection of water resources and to the well-being of the planet and its inhabitants.

Academic achievement award

Amount: USD 3,000
The American Water Works Association invites applications for its academic achievement award. This encourages academic excellence by recognising contributions made by students and academics in the field of public water supply.

Pioneers in groundwater award

The American Society of Civil Engineers invites nominations for its pioneers in groundwater award. This recognises an individual with pioneering contributions in the teaching, research or practice of groundwater science and engineering.

LIFE – traditional projects on climate change adaptation

Award total: €30,200,000
The Directorate-General for the Environment invites proposals for its traditional projects on climate change adaptation, under the climate action strand of the LIFE programme. These support best-practice, demonstration and pilot projects that contribute to the development and implementation of EU policy on climate change adaptation.

The Multidisciplinary Digital Publishing Institute, on behalf of the Water Journal, invites nominations for its young investigator award. This recognises groundbreaking research and significant contributions to the advancement of the water resources field.

The Multidisciplinary Digital Publishing Institute, on behalf of its Water Journal, invites applications for its travel awards. These support PhD candidates or postdoctoral fellows in presenting at a conference relating to water in 2020.

Environment and sustainability research grants

The Royal Geographical Society (with the Institute of British Geographers), supported by the Deutsche Post-Stiftung, invites applications for its environment and sustainability research grants. These support projects that investigate some of the bigger issues of environmental sustainability, including water and development, energy security, and urban migration.

Water science bursary
Deadline: 31 Mar 21 (Forecast)
Award total: £2,000
The Royal Society of Chemistry’s Water Science Forum invites applications for its water science bursary. This supports researchers engaged in projects that involve the application of chemical sciences in the management of the water cycle, and the impact these activities have on the environment.
