Réentrée escolaire - Back to "school"
We wish and hope this message finds you, your family and friends, in good health and in somewhat positive spirits given the continuing obscurity. Things are maybe more stable here in Switzerland than other parts of the world for which we are certainly grateful.
The concept of Réentrée escolaire - Back to "school", has become a running gag at the office as we wonder if life with this new “normal” will ever "go back" to feeling the same again. Its at times like these, I always return to my all time favourite advice from the poet Rainer Maria Rilke, 1903 in Letters to a Young Poet
***Live the Questions Now***
"…I would like to beg you dear Sir, as well as I can, to have patience with everything unresolved in your heart and to try to love the questions themselves as if they were locked rooms or books written in a very foreign language. Don’t search for the answers, which could not be given to you now, because you would not be able to live them. And the point is to live everything. Live the questions now. Perhaps then, someday far in the future, you will gradually, without even noticing it, live your way into the answer."
Please reply to this email, if this advice moves you or further frustrates you, as it once did to me. It took me some time for this advice to totally sink in and root itself.
To finish off, I want to heartily thank you for your loyalty and unconditional generosity in supporting our crowdfunding campaign to help the daily wage workers in India through our project partners back in April. Thanks to many of you and our friends, our crowdfunding campaign successfully raised 8015€. The money has been sent between end April and early May to our partners in India: Protsahan and Project Potential. Following this, we received many overwhelming stories of hope, light and positivity. I will share one with you.
Through our project partners Protsahan, the aid helped secure a professional midwife to visit the Dhobi (washermen) community to assist many pregnant women close to their due date, thanks to you a total of 86 babies were born healthy beside their happy mothers away from the hospitals quarantine nightmare. As promised in the video, about 80% of the support went into securing daily rations and fresh daily meals for families most vulnerable and affected by this pandemic. The detailed report from both organisations can be downloaded here: Protsahan report and Project potential report.
The campaign is still open and donations are accepted, anything collected this point forward will be transferred to our long time project partners Sukhibhava for building the new Hello Saheli program (who refused the initial aid in April and instead pointed us towards Project Potential who needed the support more serving in rural communities at the peak of CoVid-19. We are so proud to have such partners, where authentic solidarity shines through)
The current uncertainty and emergency has offered or in other words pushed us to grow (resiliently, psychologically and spiritually) in ways that we couldn’t imagine before. We are happy you are by our side on this journey.
“To be trusted is a greater compliment than being loved.” So thank you for your trust in us
