DESIGN YOUR NEW NORMAL

Thanks to a lot of extra time spent in our homes due to social distancing, it's likely that you have suddenly become very aware of all the spaces that no longer work for you and your family.  Form follows function; this has never been more true. Whether you are hoping to redesign a lower level that now functions as a virtual school or an open kitchen area that serves as a place for your family to gather casually, we can help.
  1. Office Space. As more of us work (and learn) from home, creating a dedicated office and space for studying is crucial. If you’ve had to quickly convert areas and rooms to a home office that isn’t quite working for you, let us assist you in creating your perfect space for productivity.
  2. Make Your Home Fun. Home gyms, media rooms, and game rooms are necessary to keep everyone entertained. As entertainment options outside of your home dwindle with the approach of fall and winter weather, creating a perfect play space for everyone at home is going to be vital. Winter is coming.
  3. Safety. If an older member of your family needs to move in for health or other reasons, having a lower-level, stand-alone suite could provide the safety, distance, and privacy they need.

 FEATURED PROJECTS

UNIVERSITY DRIVE

At ADJ, we believe that not only do opposites attract – they absolutely dazzle. And there’s no better example than one of our latest projects on University Drive. Featuring neutral notes throughout the open living/dining rooms, pops of color such as mustard and saffron leap from one-of-a-kind furniture pieces and accent items. Mixing old with new and classic with modern means all senses and sensibilities are delighted. Our favorite personal touch includes all silver cabinet hardware – a nod to the client who is a longtime silversmith.

HUNTLEIGH

Being able to tell a good story through interior design is hands down one of the best parts of our jobs. And man, does the Huntleigh home tell an amazing one. When our clients – a beautiful, joyful family – approached us about making their new home everything they imagined, we jumped at the chance to translate their loving, cheerful demeanor into detailed design elements. Combining a French country feel with fun and fresh colors throughout the house, their bright blue butler’s pantry in particular still makes us smile to this day.

These in-progress shots of our Carter Place project are staggering! It’s been so incredibly fun to upgrade our clients’ traditional and ornate style to modern and sensible.

DESIGN HACK

Gallery walls provide you with the perfect opportunity to change the entire look of a space without a lot of work. And don’t limit yourself to family photos; black and white artistic portraits you adore, framed vintage wall coverings, album covers, posters, and more can be equally enticing! Here are five of our favorite gallery wall design options.

1. The Classic

The classic is a combination of 5 to 10 framed pieces naturally placed together. This is a great option for someone who wants to start slowly with a space. Utilizing all sizes and shapes and bringing them together is a fun, fresh take on the classic wall.

2. The Ledge

The ledge design brings together anywhere from 3 to 5 framed pieces propped against one another on a thin wall shelf. This style works well if you like to change the look and feel of your wall on a regular basis and creates a multidimensional look.

3. The Salon

The nook. It’s that unique little space in your home that you are always wondering exactly what to do with. The salon gallery style is the perfect choice to create a jaw-dropping floor-to-ceiling arrangement of some of your favorite things. From pieces of small art to framed photography, you’ve got a lot of creative options with the salon.

Wishing you health in beautiful spaces,
