Before I share this month's news, I want to get real for a minute. I have been struggling with my mental health lately, which I attribute to the COVID-19 pandemic. It has been helpful to talk about it with others--it helps me realize I am not alone and even that it is okay not to feel okay right now. That's why I wanted to briefly share that with you. These short socks were born out of a summertime desire to knit colorwork that I wouldn’t have to wait until colder weather to wear. The colorwork pattern in the ribbing provides more stretch than a traditional corrugated rib. The Latvian braid aims to provide some stability in the fabric around the ankle in an effort to avoid the sock disappearing into shoes. The final bit of colorwork is the whimsical butterfly pattern knit flat into the heel flap. The foot shows off a pretty lace pattern and ends with a star toe.
