  • Child Help (near Culpeper) is hosting weekly "Meet the Recruiter" virtual information sessions on Tuesdays until 7/28, 1-2pm. Email Nobiana Dodi at ndodi@childhelp.org to register. They seek Direct Care Staff paying $14/hour (no license required), Special Education Teachers and Registered Nurses
  • The City of Charlottesville Downtown Job Center will be hosting an employer information session with National Tire & Battery on Tuesday, July 14 at 1pm. These Facebook-live videos are also available afterwards on their FB page.  Don't forget about their Virtual Job Club (on Thursdays at 11am) to get additional support with your job search!
  • Virginia Career Works / Mary Grant is hosting a workshop on how to do a Proactive Job Search on Tuesday, 7/14 at 2pmRegister in advance to get the zoom link.
  • Attention aspiring entrepreneurs / technology aficionados - CBIC is hosting a virtual Tech on Tap for easy and free networking on Tuesday, 7/14 at 5pm
  • Valley Health is hosting weekly Ask Me Anything Virtual Open House sessions for hiring healthcare professionals in their hospitals in the Valley (over the mountain) on Wednesdays from 11am-1pm until August 12. 
  • Hiring our Heroes is hosting a Virtual Job Fair on Friday, July 17, 9-11am. They have a series of career development and employment-focused webinars between July 7 and July 16.  Then return on July 17 to connect with representatives from national and regional organizations. This event is open to transitioning service members, veterans, military spouses, and military caregivers. Register before 6 p.m. EDT on July 16, 2020 - https://www.hiringourheroes.org/virtual-event-registration/They will also be hosting a Cyber/IT virtual job fair on July 24.  
  • Virtual Student Federal Service has a large number of unpaid virtual internships in 50+ federal government agencies that will allow you to seriously expand your resume and network of professional contacts.  There is something for everyone (who is enrolled in college during the 2020-21 school year) from Arts Administration to Program Management.  The application is open until July 31 by visiting USAJOBSThe personal statement is the most important part (in addition to a good resume). There will be an information session on July 21 at 2pm.  To attend the July 21 session, click here to register.  Use event number 199 764 6615 and password 202021

  • UPS has 4 openings in Charlottesville: a part-time Package Handler working the twilight shift of 4:30-9:30pm, Automotive Technician working the night shift of 12:30-9:00am, a seasonal Personal Vehicle Package Driver (you would use your own vehicle to deliver) and a Package Delivery Driver (flexible schedule). They love to hire students with having a bonus of up to $25,000 to support you with school expenses (for the package handler positions).
