Dear Friend,

Why do you vote?
Are you most concerned about well-paying jobs, better roads, affordable housing, climate change, social justice, reproductive rights, DACA or other immigration reforms, access to affordable health care, protection of public lands? All of the above and more?

How do you research?
How do you research ballot measures or figure out what candidates will support your passions? We hope to engage you in these questions in the weeks ahead. For starters, are you confident that your news sources are reliable?

Check out adfontesmedia.com/static-mbc, which rates the news for bias and reliability “using a rigorous methodology and a politically balanced team of analysts.”

And to see where the candidates stand on the issues, go to justfacts.votesmart.org, which is a nonpartisan website whose mission is “to provide free, factual, unbiased information” about candidates, elected officials and ballot measures. It is comprehensive and very easy to read.
