Thank You

With the near completion of our construction project, the start of a new fiscal year, and personal life changes, your hard-working broadband staff team is in transition. Rebecca Coletta has joined the Board of Selectmen, which oversees the Plainfield Light and Telecommunications Department. Michal Lumsden has moved to a new community that is considering a city-owned network—our loss is their gain! Sally Silberberg is also stepping back; she will continue to support our team mascot, Levi, as he heads into semi-retirement.

Three departing Broadband staff members stand in front of the hub with Levi the Lineman strawman and Plainfield Broadband sign. All are wearing masks.

All three women have devoted countless hours to Plainfield Broadband outreach, education, special events, marketing, and communications over the past 4 years. The success of our project is a direct result of their creative energy and vision.  We thank them for their dedication and hard work! While the COVID-19 pandemic put a wrench in large public celebrations, our team did gather last week to honor our collective work and to mark the transition to a new smaller team.

Kimberly Longey and Brian Hawthorne will remain staff of the Plainfield Light and Telecommunications Department. Both continue to work closely with the Selectboard, our Broadband Finance Working Group, and Whip City Fiber, our internet service provider and network operator, to ensure the highest quality broadband service at the fairest prices.

Please direct all customer service questions (e.g. billing, payment, installation scheduling) to Whip City Fiber customer service team at customerservice@wgeld.org or call 1-413-485-1251 (M-F 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.).

If you are already connected and have technical support needs or questions, email Whip City Fiber tech support directly at techsupport@whipcityfiber.com or call 1-413-485-1204. Local tech support is available 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday, with a backup service 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Many thanks for your continued support.
Kimberly Longey (Manager) and Brian Hawthorne (Assistant Manager)

Not Installed Yet?
If you receive a telephone call from Westfield, please answer it! It may be Whip City Fiber calling about scheduling your broadband installation. Please don’t hang up on them, and if they leave you a message about scheduling, return their calls as soon as you can as scheduling windows often close quickly. Whip City Fiber is having trouble reaching some residents, and we need to get everyone connected as soon as possible.
