Here are the latest updates and community links from around the island:
  • An update from the Mercer Island Parks & Recreation Department on the opening of park facilities and amenities and what remains closed – find out about the status of beaches, athletic fields, playgrounds, restrooms, and more. (City of Mercer Island)
     
  • Premier Catch, a local, family-operated and women-owned seafood company, is hosting a seafood pop-up shop TODAY on Mercer Island from noon to 5 pm at the Chase Bank Building upper parking lot. (My Mercer Island)
     
  • The Mercer Island Thrift Shop is undergoing a major renovation, expected to take approximately four months. (Mercer Island Reporter)
     
  • There were about 30 new cases of COVID-19 on Mercer Island in approximately the past two weeks, following a month-long period of only about 5 new cases. (Public Health – Seattle & King County)
     
  • A statewide mandate went into effect on June 26th requiring every person to wear a mask in public. Staying home is still safest. (State of Washington)
     
  • A local middle school student created this clever "Social Distancing Saves Lives" video. (Mercer Island School District)
     
  • The Mercer Island Chamber of Commerce recently announced that it will be postponing its Art UnCorked event, previously scheduled for September 11th, until next year on September 10th, 2021. (Mercer Island Reporter)
     
  • The Mercer Island library is now offering curbside to-go hours. The book drop is also open. (KCLS)
