Reappointment of Professor Charlie Keil as Principal of Innis College

The Agenda Committee of Academic Board has approved the reappointment of Professor Charlie Keil as Principal of Innis College for a second term from July 1, 2020 to June 30, 2026, including a one-year administrative leave. Professor Keil has undertaken an ambitious plan for improvement and expansion of the Innis College facilities. His dedication to alumni relations and stewardship will continue to drive this project forward in the coming years.

2020 SSHRC Insight Grant – Online information session

The Faculty of Arts & Science Research Support Office is holding an online information session for the 2020 SSHRC Insight Grant (IG) competition on July 30 from 10-11:45 am. Funded Research Officer Suzanne Jaeger, and Department of Economics Professor Yoram Halevy, who served on the SSHRC 2019 IG Merit Review Committee, will give an overview of the SSHRC IG, and discuss the adjudication process, elements of a strong proposal, budget considerations, the application process and deadlines.

Note, the Research Services Office is hosting an additional IG Information Session on July 22.

A&S Applications Welcome – Mitacs Research Training Award

Arts & Science welcomes applications for Mitacs Research Training Awards. The award will provide opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students to undertake a short-term paid research training internship at a Canadian institution. Students receive an opportunity to enhance their skills through interaction with faculty and hands-on research and training experience. Projects must begin by August 31, 2020. Internal A&S Application Deadline: July 31, 2020 at 4 pm.
