The students will have the opportunity to meet with every area in the College and learn more about each service NC offers.

  • International Postsecondary & Graduate studies - Friday, September 4th
  • Social Event for all students - Saturday, September 5th
  • College-wide Orientation - Tuesday, September 8th
Where can I find out more information?
NC’s Orientation webpage will be geared towards both domestic and international students featuring up-to-date information highlighting all the live sessions and events that are happening. To ensure students don’t miss out on this valuable information due to time conflicts or time zones, all the live sessions will be recorded and will be made available through the webpage:
https://orientation.niagaracollege.ca/

The College’s Orientation page will be the main source of orientation information for students, apart from the Orientation day agenda for international students that will be available on NC International’s webpage for Orientation: https://international.niagaracollege.ca/orientation/

When can students register for Orientation?
Registration is now open for students and the registration form is available on our Orientation page: https://international.niagaracollege.ca/orientation/

Additional Student Supports
The Be NC Ready modules will be promoted throughout the month of August during the sessions and it will be suggested that students complete one module per week. There will be live chat sessions and drop in rooms questions and answers supporting each one of those modules. To view the Be NC Ready modules, please visit: https://international.niagaracollege.ca/student-services/be-nc-ready/

Our dedicated orientation and engagement app, Be NC Ready, will be available by the end of month by searching the App Store or Google Play for “Be NC Ready”.  The App will allow students to keep informed on all new information that is important as a new international student and feature:
  • An activities calendar
  • An orientation schedule,
  • A chat section to connect with Peers and PAL Mentors to ask them one-on-one questions
  • A chat section to post questions and receive responses from NC staff
  • Live streamed Orientation sessions

We highly recommended that when students get the e-mail with the App information that they download this value resource to keep up-to-date with everything that is happening with the Pre-Orientation and Orientation.

As limited on-campus academic activity will resume in a small number of programs beginning Monday, July 6, a new approval process for employee access to campus will also come into effect.

Access to campus remains limited to students and staff who have an approved activity, and essential workers and contractors.

Employees can now complete a request access to campus via the Employee Self-Service app in the myNC portal.

A message from Dave Taylor

Hello all,

By now you have read Sean Kennedy's message to the college community, and in that message he refers to delaying the hiring of a new VP International, likely until Jan 2021.

As I have indicated, my contract is over on August 31, 2020... so that will leave an interim period for coverage in INTL.

During that period Sean Coote will be assuming responsibilities for his current role for NC KSA, and he will also be assuming additional responsibilities for managing GEP with the managers in that area reporting to him.

Laurie will support Sean C with his new responsibilities as well as support PPP as necessary.

Dorita's assignment in INTL will be extended until the end of the calendar year, and both Sean C and Dorita will report directly to Sean Kennedy until a new VP INTL is selected in 2021.

If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to me.

Thx
Dave Taylor
Senior Vice President, International
