<<First Name>>,
How are you?
I laugh when I think about how positive we might have been when I sent out my last newsletter at the beginning of 2020. "New decade! New me!" were all the messages we got in the news or we told ourselves.
And then the pandemic hit, and enough deaths of Black people to warrant a worldwide movement and awareness of racism in our own lives.
Not a day goes by that I'm grateful that my husband and I had paid work coming in, still get to live in our home in beautiful Vancouver, and kept ourselves busy with TV, movies, neighbourhood walks, and our regular exercise routine long enough to keep our minds off of everything.
Four months in, the province of BC is in "phase 3" of our economy re-opening and while we're still being cautious about socializing, we're back to driving to the grocery store (shoutout to Eternal Abundance for delivering my vegan groceries for about 12 weeks!) and visiting family and friends a few times a month.
Since March, I re-launched "The Vegan Copywriter" as The Content Doctor, managed content for the online magazine TruHavn, and started taking courses on Book Editing. As part of my ongoing education on anti-racism, I've taken Spiritual Activism 101 and 102 by Rachel Ricketts, started a resource list on anti-racism for Asians (Filipinxs in particular), and have attended online events organized by and for Filipinxs, and on diversity and inclusion.
I still believe that this year has given us an almost-perfect vision of the state our world is in and how important it is to not only invest in our own wellness, but be conscious, critical, and empathetic to everyone—and to animals and the Earth—no matter what gender or race you are.

Here is a list of organizations that I've donated to:
Money isn't the only way you can (or should) combat racism, but I've posted these links for awareness of all the organizations who are fighting for racial justice today.
