Reinventing the future together!

Ewals Cargo Care and ICTS are working together in many different areas. Managing third parties fleet, rental of trailers, developing technical solutions, consultancy, spare parts, preventive maintenance and MOT are key drivers for succes to both companies.

During its half year business review, focus went on how to handle the disruptive effects from Covid-19, from slow down in the automotive markets and from other challenges in the European Transport & Logistics Industry.

Ewals Cargo Care took the decision to keep its fleet technically in order, ready to go when markets are picking up. Also new promising opportunities, new ways of doing things were found and realised to face and overcome today’s downturn.

Katoen Natie visits ICTS’ new MOT hall in Belgium.

To exchange ideas on logistics and building technology, several staff members of Katoen Natie visited the new MOT hall ICTS is building in Zeebrugge. Also present were TAE, suppliers of the brake test system and O-Beton, provider of the concrete structures used in this new MOT hall.

ICTS and Katoen Natie also discussed possible ways to cooperate in the area of trailer rental, maintenance and repairs, as well as other services.
Katoen Natie has a fleet of about 1600 trailers, mainly container chassis. The company runs port terminals, logistic terminals and on-site terminals. They also provide a multitude of semi-industrial services, as well as design, build and manage logistic platforms and complete supply chains for different industries, for which they offer tailormade solutions.

Box trailers for MAAT Transport.

MAAT Transport has a varied fleet of open trailers, (semi)-flatbed trailers, curtain-sided trailers up to 26 meters long, and covered trailers.

To be able to meet the explosive national and international demand from various clients, MAAT Transport is renting several box trailers with a Dhollandia tail lift from ICTS during this corona period.

MAAT is an all-round logistics provider from Zuid-Holland. A family business founded in 1934, the company has grown exponentially to keep their customers’ world in motion, with exceptional transport services including contract transport, as well as all imaginable services related to internal transportation, commercial vehicles and warehousing.
MAAT aims to always look at their customers’ needs from the fourth party logistics concept’s (4PL) perspective. This means that MAAT takes over and manages all transport activities and logistic processes and looks for the best solutions for the entire supply chain. This MAAT concept unburdens the customer and has the added benefit of reducing costs and increasing sustainability.

New trailers with added safeguards.

ICTS has recently delivered new trailers, equipped with the WABCO TailGUARD 3 system, Hydraroll roller bed and a SBS Turtle lock.

The TailGUARD system detects large and small, moving and stationary objects in the blind spot behind the trailer, hereby reducing risks when backing up. This system also makes docking easier for the driver, as it automatically stops the trailer at a safe distance from the dock.

The Hydraroll roller beds have been added to facilitate loading and unloading air cargo pallets. The floor is divided in 4 sections. Each section is equipped with pallet stops so pallets can be secured. The air cargo megatrailers concerned are also equipped with a Concorde roof, which enables the transportation of two jumbo pallets and two standard air cargo pallets.

The SBS turtle lock on the trailers provides extra anti-theft protection

For more information about the TailGUARD system, visit WABCO’s website at www.wabco-auto.com.
