The Queensland Bromeliad Society brings you news of recent events.

The committee met on 6th July on Zoom and made some important decisions regarding the Society’s future.

Membership subscriptions:
Any subscriptions that have been paid for 2020 will extend to, and include membership for 2021. The pro rata membership payments for new members will be suspended. Any new memberships will also include membership until the of 2021.

No general meetings will be held for the foreseeable future, because of pandemic restrictions. The committee will explore alternative methods for holding meetings, such as a Webinar, or live streaming through Facebook.

Shows are cancelled until further notice.

It is hoped to hold a Tillandsia Day next year.

The Popular Vote Competition will recommence in August, so get your photos ready to enter. Notice of the next competition will come to you from John Williamson at the end of July.

We will continue our fortnightly BSQ Connect Issues and Member Spotlights as we received good feedback for them.

Condolences are extended to family and friends of members who have sadly passed away recently.  These include John Whitehorne, John Catlan, Viv Duncan, Joe Green, Fred Thomson and Bevan Tatnell.

A Tillandsia group met Sunday morning, 12th July.  Twelve met at Pam Butler’s place and presented Tillandsias of interest, mostly in bloom.

From the Editor,

Maxim Wilson.
