Mauri ora fund supports Ngāti Rāruatanga
Whānau, you've told us rejuvenating identity and Ngāti Rāruatanga is one of your top priorities.
As a response, Te Rūnanga o Ngāti Rārua uses the Mauri Ora fund to support whānau to hold wānanga on whakapapa, reo me ōna tikanga and other activities. Our belief is that more impact will be created by whānau being empowered, than by central delivery by the Iwi.

Post-Covid19 banking:
Your questions answered
We've all been working together through this Covid-19 pandemic. We've seen major change in our community and around the world. The times ahead may be uncertain as industries and the economy respond.
Now is a good time to learn as much as we can about banking and managing our putea, and understand more about finance and how banking products work.
Having a good relationship with your bank helps a lot. The more we learn, the better we can manage our finances in the future and the better prepared we can be for changing circumstances. And the better you know your bank, the more they can help you.
Save the date - August 12
We're holding a special event in August where the manager of the Blenheim ANZ will answer your questions about accounts and all kinds of banking services. It's open to all, and will be the first of what we hope will be several events.
Ask a Question
We're making this anonymous - simply send in your questions and we'll get the answers for you. We'll also share the answers on facebook so whānau can all benefit.
Owners of the Ngāti Rārua Ātiawa Iwi Trust residing or studying in Aotearoa can apply for 2020 education funding until 31 August.
In keeping with Ipukarea, our strategic plan, the investment in education for our hapū provides the pathway to empowerment, employment and mātauranga; putting you in charge of your own opportunities.
As kaitiaki of our legacy, we encourage our whānau members to seek knowledge across a range of skills that will support the development and advancement of our hapū.
Our education programme places emphasis on skills and subjects that our whānau will need for the future workforce, as well as skills that will enhance and preserve mātauranga Māori.
This new programme will introduce you to the foundations of mahi raranga where you will learn to make practical & traditional items. You will explore the origins of weaving, identify artistic variations and evolution as well as demonstrate introductory raranga practices in artistic and creative processes.
Enjoy a supportive and safe learning environment where anyone can experience and learn raranga consistent with te reo Māori me ngā tikanga.
