Hello Street Car Family!
Race 2 of the season has finally been completed after a massive delay due to the Covid-19 pandemic. It was a brisk morning but everyone was warm in their hearts, because racing was back! Race fuel, rubber and mates were sorely missed.
Qualifying started the show with a massive 10 cars for street cars, which is one of the biggest fields we have had in a long while. It was interrupted by the class combined with us twice which was unfortunate. This only allowed really for a one hot lap qualy for all of our field.
Andrew Stevens, Shaun Mulquiney and Andrew Souva brought in the top 3 with Ben Peachy topping the under 2 litre class.
Race 1 was exciting to see all the cars out again. Shaun unfortunately had some trouble at the end of qualy as wasnt able to continue. Andrew Stevens and Paul Kluck ended up leading the front. Souva was having some intermittent troubles and was going as well as he could and holding in front of the ever improving Chris Cheverall in his BMW. The 2 litre crew were having great fun together all enjoying have people to race!
Andrew Stevens won the race with Paul and Andrew Souva taking minor places in another safety car affected race from the combined category. Ben in his 20B Datsun took the win in front of Wayne Hastie and Phil Crouse in the under 2 litres.
Races 2 and 3 were also safety car affected as well, not from anyone in Street Cars. Andrew Stevens was going so fast in race 1 he broke his front guard which flicked up and smashed his windscreen and was no longer allowed to race.
Paul K, Andrew S and Chris gained the places in both races for overall. The under 2 litre guys were mixing it up and had a great races throughout the day. Phil nabbed the win for both races with Kelvin, Wayne and Ben all changing it up!
Results for the day are
Overall
