Due to the most recent fire incident on a vessel servicing the West African trade, we need to remind everyone of Sallaum Line’s battery safety policies and procedures for all delivered Vehicles.
 
All delivered vehicles (POV’s) must have access to the battery housing as illustrated in the pictures below.
 
NOTE: For those newer vehicles such as Mercedes/BMW/Ranger Rover’s that may have the battery housing in the trunk and or under the back seats, we ask you to make sure that such battery housing areas are not obstructed and are exposed so that our Terminal/Stevedoring crews are able to perform the required battery cable removal during loading operations.
 
Safety is our top priority and our battery cable removal procedure is to protect all stakeholders that maybe impacted, such as terminal crews, stevedoring crews, vessel crews and your customers who invested in such vehicles.
 
Please communicate and coordinate with your delivery drivers so that everyone is on the same page and everyone is doing their part in ensuring safety and protection for all stakeholders.
