Hi Everyone!

It has been a long time since the school has had to close and it feels like ages too!

So now we have been told we can open - subject to conforming to Government Guidelines and being COVID-19 safe.  So how is that going to work??

We are hearing from many of you how much you are missing dancing and the social interaction - and I have to say we are all missing you 'lot' too.  So can you all come back now ??  Unfortunately not just yet - it is our primary aim to keep you all safe.  I have heard no serious cases of illness in the Dance Addiction community since lock-down started (for which we are all pleased), however we are not about to put any one of you at risk now, so 'SLOWLY AND SAFELY' is the key.

There are two things that have to be sorted out before we can invite any of you back in.
Firstly: we are going to have to work out what we can do within the guidelines set out; because things like social dancing, and parties are NOT going to be possible for quite some time. Group classes will potentially be back sooner, but obviously will look slightly different to allow for the guidelines. Private lessons might return fairly soon, however, again, this will have to take into account the guidelines.
Secondly: St Paul's have to be consulted and have to agree with our plans and that together we can manage the additional cleaning etc. that would be required.

So in short, we are trying to move things forward as fast and as safely as we can and let you know soon what might happen and when.  We hope we will be able to arrange couples lessons and maybe some classes (especially line-dancing) with restricted numbers - things we could do keeping social distancing in mind.  We haven't forgotten the children's classes or IDTA exams, and are thinking ahead to how they could perhaps be organized going forward.  Vera, Martina, and Djordje are doing some teaching 'virtually' but it is not ideal and would not suit everyone.  But it shows we are looking at all options and possibilities.

I say again - the last thing we want to do is endanger you or the teachers, so we are going to get it right, certainly as right as we can !  The government guidelines are really just a guide, whoever wrote them for a dance school has two left feet for sure......

I can't see social dancing starting again till the end of this year at earliest, maybe even 2021, but we just have to 'hang in' there a while longer.

So if you thought we had forgotten you, rest assured we haven't.  Marilyn and I, John and Sabine and the teachers are itching to get back too.  We miss the parties, socials and DJ Djordje on the mic.

Don't hesitate to get in touch to say Hi or anything you like, and we will contact you again as soon as we have some news.

Keep Smiling, Dancing, and Distancing!

David & Marilyn
