"The European Parliament has made it clear that it will work towards protecting the rights of EU citizens in the UK and of British citizens in the EU post Brexit. These millions of people will be among those affected the most by Brexit. Their rights are covered by the withdrawal agreement negotiated by the UK and the EU. However, there is a high level of uncertainty as to the effective protection of these rights as well as their safeguarding in the negotiations on the future UK/EU relationship.

During our webinar, we will hear voices from different citizens organizations both in the UK and the EU as well as from academia and within the European Parliament. The aim is to have a constructive and structured debate about the issue and explore concrete pathways for ensuring the protection of citizens’ rights."

Jane Golding, co-chair of BiE, will be presenting alongside Kuba Jablonowski, Research Associate at the3million, and Professor Tanja Bueltmann, Professor of Migration History at Northumbria University.

After each presentation, there will be the possibility of asking questions to the speakers. The debates will be animated by the members of the Bureau of the EU UK Friendship Group, Terry Reintke MEP, Radoslaw Sikorski MEP, Nathalie Loiseau MEP and Katarina Barley MEP.

The event is public and open to all, however, registration is required and places are subject to availability. Please share this invite with friends who may be interested to attend. we look forward to 'seeing' you there!
