Messiah Summer Camp Update

Families who have registered for Summer Camp will be contacted by our Director of Childcare Ministries, Lindsey Knox, in the coming days so that we can finalize planning for a summer that looks to be quite different than our normal summer camp experience. The Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is currently requiring consistent groupings of children not to exceed ten with the same two staff member assigned to them consistently. These DHHS guidelines will likely limit some of the flexibility in attendance options that we have traditionally offered.

We anticipate opening Messiah Summer Camp on Monday, May 18, as previously scheduled. If you have not yet registered for Summer Camp and anticipate needing it on a regular basis, please click here to email Lindsey Knox, so that she can contact you directly to discuss your needs.
Plant Sale Pickup

You should have received an email earlier this week with a time slot for picking up your plant sale order on Saturday.
Thank you for supporting the Messiah Outdoor Classroom!

Senior Action Projects

Each Spring, seniors at Lincoln Lutheran High School offer unique outreach projects to serve our community. This year has brought some challenges to their efforts and has fostered some creative offerings. Here are a few options that you may wish to partner and connect with these young leaders.

Virtual Basketball Camp (April 27 - May1)

Lincoln Lutheran Seniors, Kyle Luebbe and Tice Jenkins, have created a virtual basketball camp for your students. It’s a 5 day-week long basketball camp that can keep your student productive during the COVID-19 quarantine. The link to the playlist of videos are here (https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLluHNyDt1QvpNfG2XSApCQIAeqeXs2CU3). Students are encouraged to comment on the videos of how their workout went.

Computer Programming Camp

Luke Volin and Collin Rich are offering a Computer Programming Camp. Learn more about the benefits of computer programming in increasing cognitive skills, writing skills through this video or this senior research paper about The Positives fo Learning to Code.

1. Go to the Hour of Code website, under the “Learn” section.

  • This will work on a computer, a tablet or iPad, or even your phone.
  • Some of the activities may require Adobe Flash, but most will not.

2. Choose an Activity

  • Look through all the activities, and click on one.
3. Once you choose an activity, it will walk you how to start, and you should be good to go to start programming!

4. If you complete an hour of code and want your certificate, just send us an email at luke.volin@llwarriors.org with your student’s name, and we will email you back with your certificate!

Baseball Equipment Drive

Tanner Lebo and Andrew Lofgren are looking for baseball donations! We recognize baseball can be an expensive sport with all of the gear you need and we would like to bless kids in need. If you have any baseball gear lying around, consider donating it for our drive. Hats, gloves, helmets, pants, or anything else are much appreciated. Drop off any time during office hours at Lincoln Lutheran (M/Th 10-2), or email andrew.lofgren@llwarriors.org if you need to schedule a porch pickup. Thank you for your support!

How can we pray for you?
