City officials and staff advise citizens to follow strict social distancing guidelines and other preventative measures. “We are doing everything possible to stop the spread of this harmful virus and we cannot do that alone,” said Mayor Yolanda Ford. “Let’s come together as a community and do what we need to do to flatten the curve and move forward.”

Face Covering Mandatory
Image
In an effort to further assist in flattening the curve, face covering will be mandatory in Harris County beginning Monday, April 27 until Tuesday, May, 26. The covering may be a homemade mask, scarf, bandana, handkerchief or other cloth masks.

Mother’s Day Contest

Despite the pandemic, Missouri City is still hosting its annual Mother’s Day Celebration in an innovative way. Instead of our cake decorating event, this year, staff is requesting kids to showcase their creativity virtually by submitting theme artwork for a chance to win prizes for their loved ones. Then on Saturday, May 9 from 10 a.m. to noon, there will be a Mother’s Day Drive-Through Celebration at the City Hall Complex where participants and winners will be recognized with a special token of thanks from Mayor Yolanda Ford.

2020 CENSUS: Make Sure MCTX Counts

The response rate of 62.7 percent (as of April 21) proves that Missouri City is answering the 2020 Census population county survey. But let’s all make sure to complete the form together and ensure that our community receives the resources it needs to continue thriving!
