Dear Lenart Family,

Woohoo!  We completed Week 2 of Remote Learning.  Hopefully your family is starting to learn the basic structures and get into a daily routine.  Our remote learning will continue to evolve over the weeks to come.  We hope to continue to add more opportunities for students to grow academically and interact socially.  Please know that we are in this together and that we are here to support you.  You can reach our teachers and administration by email or daily virtual office hours as posted on our website.

We are still waiting for guidance from CPS in regards to the 4th quarter. Many parents have had questions about 4th quarter grades, how to pick up a student's personal belongings, how to return school materials, end of the year closing activities, and so forth. We will share all this information with you once we receive more information from CPS.  Please be patient as CPS is working on a plan that meets the diverse needs of all the stakeholders in the district.

Thank you to all the parents that participated in a Virtual Report Card conference with their child's teacher.  Our teachers together held over 180 meetings with parents this week!  If you wish to speak with our child's teacher and did not have the opportunity this week, please email the teacher directly.

With kindness, grace, patience, and each other, we will get through this together.  Enjoy your weekend!

With Gratitude,

Principal Sims

STEMfamily Virtual Camp - iBIO Institute is offering a new, family-centered, social-distancing approved program this summer!

About STEMfamily Camp:

Starting the morning of June 22, 2020, families will login to STEMfamily to kick-off each daily activity, access additional resources and interact with volunteers from local industry. Facilitators will be available throughout the day for troubleshooting help. We will reconvene as a large group in the afternoon to share our creations with one another and upload videos and photos of our family fun on Twitter and/or a private Facebook group.

Required materials are mostly household items – paper towel rolls, batteries, tape, etc. A materials list will be distributed to all STEMfamily campers two weeks prior to camp. We are providing materials and supplies kits for families in North Chicago/Waukegan area. North Chicago/Waukegan families will be able to pick up materials through a curbside pickup the week prior to camp.

Please click HERE to register for STEMfamily Camp. If you have any questions, feel free to contact Monique Naleway at mnaleway@ibio.org or  (312) 561-3895.
