Periodically I drive by Armatage just to remind myself that it is still there and that it is the physical representation of our school community, but not the soul of who we are.  We are Armatage Strong and as a school community focused on preparing students for their future, we will continue to support our students in learning.  (Read More)

The Holy Month of Ramadan

This year, Ramadan will begin on Thursday, April 23rd through Saturday, May 23rd.  Ramadan is the most sacred month of the year in Islamic culture, during which Muslims observe fasting from sunrise to sunset.

Many of our students and staff from the Muslim community may fast during this time, going without food or liquid for more than 12 hours a day during the 30 days of Ramadan. Although fasting is not required for children until they reach the age of puberty, some younger students choose to practice fasting. We need to keep in mind how this might impact our students’ learning and participation in school activities and etc.

Weekly Food – FREE to children under age 18

Food will be distributed to students in boxes each week at designated sites Monday through Friday from 10am - 2pm..  Each food box contains 5 breakfasts and 5 lunches for a total of 10 meals. Families are welcome to take one box per child, per week. Look for the yellow school bus at all MPS food pickup sites! Make sure your household has adequate refrigeration to store food.  

Children may also take a bag of non-perishable groceries that were kindly provided in partnership with The Sheridan Story.
