Hey you! Yes, YOU. Take just 10 minutes to help shape the future of production in Oregon. Every voice counts!

Please tell us a little about yourself in our anonymous survey so we can best serve Oregon's production industry. Our board of directors will be reviewing your responses on Tuesday and creating a plan of action, including revised industry standards and guidelines.

After submitting your survey, you can enter to win a $250 Amazon gift card. The deadline to enter the raffle is tomorrow at 5pm PT.

INDUSTRY NEWS

Government Updates

 Portland Metro
PBOT issued the first b-roll permit since stay-at-home orders began. Some productions are continuing by observing proper social distancing and other safety protocols. Learn more about b-roll permits.

 State
Urgent action required to help you get back to work! Tell Governor Brown to prioritize the media production industry in re-opening the economy.

Governor Brown said in order to lift stay-at-home orders, Oregon must: show a decline in COVID-19 cases, improve case-tracking, have adequate PPE supplies and hospital capacity, and increase testing capabilities.
See the full plan.

Unemployment: Are you a freelancer who was denied unemployment? The state was not ready to process these applications. A press release issued today by the State of Oregon Employment Department says they plan to open applications to the self-employed by the end of the month. You should sign up to be notified so you can reapply when the new application is live.

Permits: To our understanding, services beyond PBOT aren't issuing permits right now due to staff capacity.

 Federal
  • Congress authorized an additional $310 billion for the Paycheck Protection Program. Small businesses and independent contractors should prepare to apply through an approved lender. Learn more.
  • SBA Loans (EIDL): Full SBA EIDL loans are currently being capped at $15,000.
  • SBA Emergency Grant: Originally announced as $10,000/applicant, the IRS has changed the loan advance to $1,000/employee (with a max of $10k). FYI it just shows up in your bank account, so you'll have to check for it.
