Celebrating Earth Day in a Virtual Way
April 22 is Earth Day and this year brings the 50th anniversary of its celebration. Earth Day encourages people to learn more about climate change, pollution, and serious environmental issues. During the COVID-19 crisis many in-person events are going virtual, but there are still ways to join in the global effort to create a better earth from home! From turning your Me & the Bees Lemonade bottles into flower vases to using old shirts as new shopping bags, our website has a list of ten easy and fun ways to reduce, reuse, and recycle.

Teacher Appreciation Day

With the realities of COVID-19 forcing administrators to close schools in 45 states, families are a month into their virtual schooling with no end in sight. Many teachers are experiencing high levels of stress as they work so hard to teach and engage students remotely. I have so much to thank my teachers for:

  • Preschool Teachers - My love of the Spanish language.

  • Middle School - Always finding a way for me to skype when traveling due to business.

  • High school - Challenging me in so many subjects and providing advice and motivation.

This year, Teacher Appreciation Week is May 4-8, making it hard to celebrate the way we normally do.  Take time to thank a teacher during this week.  Sending an e-card or thank you video is a great way to send along your gratitude. You can also make a handmade gift or buy them a gift card to their favorite local store or restaurant to use after the quarantine. There are so many great ways to give back and pay it forward!
