A note from the Director of Libraries

Welcome to the McKinney Public Library e-Newsletter. We plan to use this e-newsletter to keep you up-to-date on programs, services and other news.

Recent events have prompted dramatic changes in the many ways the library serves the community. If you’ve been following our Facebook page, you’ll know we’ve moved everything online with posts nearly every day. We’ve also begun offering library e-cards so more people have access to our extensive e-book and audio e-book collections, in addition to online class offerings.

We opened curbside pick-up today (Monday, May 4). Library facilities will not yet be open to the public, but we’re confident this first step will remove a major obstacle to restoring physical services to the community. All of our book drop-off locations are also open.

Our staff will be completely redesigning the library’s Summer Reading Program over the next few weeks. We’re excited to involve other departments so we can leverage all the city has to offer to provide a meaningful experience for the community. We’ll share more information about Summer Reading in the next e-newsletter.

In the meantime, please visit the library and city websites for more information.

Have you seen our databases lately?

You can now find all of the library’s databases in one convenient location when you log into your McKinney Public Library account. Look for the tab called “databases” and you’ll find them neatly arranged by major category, with newly added databases at the top.

Best of all, there is no longer a need to log into the databases separately. Once you’ve logged into your account, you’re there!
