#CheersToVolunteers - National Volunteer Week 2020 April 19-25, 2020
The incredible work of local volunteers is a gift to our community. Through the generous donation of their time, volunteers act as support to and lead many essential services. From events and leadership roles to service delivery as mentors, tutors, coaches, friendly visitors and more, volunteers are vital to healthy communities.
With program and event closures due to COVID19, National Volunteer Week celebrations have been postponed or moved online. We invite our community to join us as we continue to say ‘Cheers for Volunteers’. Read our daily volunteerism blog and social media posts; follow along and tag @PINnetworkGW or join the conversation nationally with the hashtag #NVW2020 and #CheersToVolunteers!
PIN - The People and Information Network believes that everyone has something to contribute to our community and we are grateful for volunteers. We recognizes that in times of community distress many individuals want to be of assistance, helping where there is need. In almost every form of emergency, the offer of help and willingness to gather to get things done is appreciated. In a pandemic, this is not the case. Physical distance is required.
PIN wanted to give volunteers a way to give back without having to leave their homes. We are asking volunteers to tell us what volunteering means to them OR asking for messages of hope to share with the staff and clients that they work with.
Please share this link to our
National Volunteer Week Survey
We will share these messages of hope with the community over the next couple of weeks.
Many thanks to Old Quebec Street Shoppes for their sponsorship &
valuing volunteer involvement in our community.
Thank you also to Guelph Mercury Tribune &Wellington Advertiser
promoting volunteering as well as appreciation shared through Magic 106 & 1460 CJOY.
