Opening Prayer

Let us Pray:

Almighty and everlasting God, who in the Paschal mystery established the new covenant of reconciliation: Grant that all who have been reborn into the fellowship of Christ’s Body may show forth in our lives what we profess in our faith; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you in the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever.  Amen.

Join the Nationwide Climate Prayer
Across the nation, people of all faiths will join their voices together to pray for action on climate change.

Our Journey with the Gospel of Matthew through the Easter Season.

Please join me as we study Matthew together, as a diocese, at the request of Bishop Megan.  Our St. Patrick’s study begins this Wednesday at 9:00, in our homes through Zoom.

Please read the Introduction to Matthew, attached, and the Scripture passages, Matthew 1 – 6:18, before we gather on Wednesday Morning.  If you would like a little more about this book, read the attached introductive commentary to this gospel account.

I look forward to our time together learning through Scripture, and sharing our experiences.  I expect our visits to last about 45 minutes.

Please note these access instructions for our zoom meetings.

PLANNED GIVING MINISTRIES MESSAGE

We are now going into our sixth week of Sheltering-in-Place and have had to
live our lives in a new, and often unusual ways to stay safe.

As a parish family we have had our first "Virtual Easter" where all services were on YouTube thanks to assistance and funds from Bishop Megan and the Episcopal Diocese of Northern California. Although certainly not the
face-to-face experience with one another, our clergy, and choir that we would wish, it was good to be able to practice our faith.

We are re-learning to do many of our former activities in new ways. Our daily lives go on, even while we may be feeling stressed and anxious to some degree about the future. Our church is here for us, and we will continue its ministries and tasks in new ways since our need for our ministries is greater than ever.

A rare gift this time of Sheltering-in-Place is providing us is to finally get around to doing some things we've been meaning to do. Many have said they have gotten around to cleaning the garage, organizing cupboards, trying new recipes, etc. This might include working on your estate planning.

For some this could be a useful time to dig into the Life Plan workbook many of us received when we attended the Life Plan workshop last year presented by the Episcopal Foundation of Northern California. Sometimes opportunity arises out of challenging times. Let's make the most of it.

We have a few Life Plan workbooks remaining so please let us know if you would like one mailed to you.

The Planned Giving Ministry members include Laurie Boone-Hogen, Chair, Stephanie Chapralis McCaffrey, and Ann and Alex Peters.

Greetings dear ones!  I'm happy to pass along to you more information about OSL's very first online virtual conference. It doesn't matter where you live... you can attend this one! And it won't cost you a penny (although donations to OSL are certainly appreciated. Your amazing board members and staff at the OSL home office, mostly working virtually, have made this opportunity available for us).

As I get more information, I will pass it along to you. Also check our Region V Website periodically, where I will try my best to keep information updated. The first place I usually post something is in our Region V Facebook group. If you're not a member yet, please join us!

This live virtual conference can be accessed via the OSL Facebook page, as shown below. If you are not on Facebook, you might consider joining just so you can watch this live video.
