Special Funding Opportunity
The Health Sciences Center (HSC) at Prisma Health announces a one-time funding mechanism for projects promising rapid innovation to address the COVID-19 pandemic. Responsive applications will demonstrate significant and rapid impact on COVID-19 (or the causal virus SARS CoV-2) prevention or care delivery. Proposed work will particularly address immediate health care system needs. Submissions are due Friday, May 8 at 4 p.m. More information here.
Health Research Spotlight: COVID-19 Antibody Testing

South Carolina’s largest universities and hospital systems have joined forces to develop a test that can tell people whether they may be immune to the coronavirus. The test looks for antibodies indicating immunity which form after someone’s had the virus. Clemson University is partnering with the University of South Carolina, the Medical University of South Carolina and Prisma Health on its development. Read more here.
