Kia ora tātou
WE MISS YOU ALL! We'd love to catch up via Zoom in place for our in-person community networking meetings in May and June.
We are setting up an initial Zoom meeting on 20 May to will be an informal cuppa and catch-up just to get us together again. At the next meeting on 17 June we intend to have a more focused conversation about what trends are emerging as we move into COVID-19 recovery mode.
We think it will be important to continue to have a central forum to share information as the situation evolves. After June we will review and make decisions about how to hold community network meetings for the rest of the year.
The Zoom meetings will be Wairarapa-wide (i.e. instead of three local district meetings). We will be sending out electronic calendar meeting invites for Zoom meetings (and sending cancellations for the local May/June in-person meetings) over the next week.
Thanks to those who have already completed the survey we circulated at the end of last week. The survey closes at the end of this week.
Ngā mihi,
Kara and Marina from the Wairarapa Community Networks

REMINDER: PRINCIPLES FOR LIVING UNDER COVID-19 ALERT LEVEL 3
New Zealand will move to alert level three from 11.59pm on Monday, April 27, and will stay in L3 for two weeks before a further decision on May 11. At the announcement, the Prime Minister clarified the Principles for Alert Level three.
1. Stay home. If you are not at work, school, exercising or getting essentials, then you must be at home, the same as at Level 4.
2. Work and learn from home if you can. We still want the vast majority of people working from home, and children and young people learning from home. At-risk students and staff should also stay at home, and they will be supported to do so. Early learning centres and schools will physically be open for up to Year 10 for families that need them.
3. Make your business COVID-19 safe. Business allowed to trade must make arrangements to open in a way that doesn’t spread the virus.
4. Stay regional. You can exercise at parks or beaches within your region, but the closer to home the better. Activities must be safe – keep 2 metres away from anybody not in your bubble. Make minimal trips.
5. Keep your bubble as small as possible. If you need to, you can expand your bubble a small amount to bring in close family, isolated people or caregivers.
6. Wash your hands often with soap. Then dry them. Cough into your elbow.
7. If you’re sick stay at home and seek advice from your GP or Healthline about getting a test.
