Hello Everyone,
I hope this finds you and your loved ones in good health, and safe from all this craziness. I just wanted to drop you a line to update everyone where we are at, where we are going or not going.
Last word I received from Leonard, Coleman was headed back into lock down for safety reasons. He sent word for all to be safe and careful.
Pine Ridge has it's borders closed for now to protect it's residents against Covid 19. The roads in are being blocked and refusing non- residents entry. The reservation hospital is not set up to deal with the virus. The residents health is the main concern. last I heard there was one case. Rather it is because lack of testing or from the shut down. We don't need to bring it in.
We will play the waiting game to see if there is an end to this. We will follow President Bear Runners rules and regulations. We will see where the country is at in another month, and communicate with those in charge. The last thing we want is to have a lot of non-residents coming in, and putting the people at risk. I would say end of May, we shall make the call.
Until then, plans will continue, just in case the virus ends as fast as it came. ( say a prayer) Mean while, all of our fund raising events , pow-wow etc have been cancelled, so money is real short to fund the normal size event. But we will always scrape by if need be.
The Scholarship was sent in, but now the college is closed, So I haven't heard word if it will be awarded this semester or not.
