MWSA CELEBRATES NATIONAL VOLUNTEER WEEK, APR 19-25, 2020
During the National Volunteer Week in 2020, we would like to express our sincere appreciation and gratitude to our strong and dedicated team of volunteers.
Volunteerism may be defined as performing an act of kindness, freely giving of your talent, time, and effort for the simple fulfillment of community expectations. It could also mean performing activities of one’s own free will that provide service to the community without monetary reward. It is an expression of active participation in the life of a community.
MWSA volunteers do all of the above plus some, and your commitment has helped us achieve success.
At MWSA, volunteers perform various duties to ensure we deliver high quality programs and services to our members, and keep our Centre running smoothly.
In 2019, 176 volunteers contributed 16,423 hours. This is equivalent to the work performed by about nine full time positions.
The COVID-19 pandemic has forced us to shut down the Centre and suspend the activities; nevertheless, we would like you to know that your contribution is always recognized.
MWSA staff members and Board Members are grateful to all the volunteers not only during the National Volunteer Week but also throughout the year.
Once the Centre is open and we are back in business, we will have our Annual Volunteer Appreciation Evening.
Should you need any help, please do not hesitate to phone (780) 496-2997 between 08:30 and 16:30 hours Monday through Friday. Please leave a message and someone will get back to you.
Please take good care of yourself and your families. If you have any questions or require more information about how you can protect yourself from COVID-19, please refer to Alberta Health Services website https://www.alberta.ca/covid19.
