Sunday Services Online

A number of churches throughout Northern California are streaming their Sunday services.  You can find a link to a list of those services on our website or on the Diocese’s Church online listing.

Search Committee News

The Search Committee invites you to participate in one of the following listening sessions, the next opportunity for congregational input about calling a new rector. These sessions will be held via Zoom and facilitated by two Search Committee members.

Here are the dates and times for the listening sessions. Each will last about an hour:
Monday, April 27 at 10 a.m.
Tuesday, April 28 at 4 p.m.
Wednesday, April 29 at 10 a.m.

Please reply to searchcommittee@stbedesmenlopark.org with your top two preferred dates.  You will receive a confirmation and instructions for joining your meeting by April 26
If needed, we will add sessions in order to allow full participation.  Contact Sue Sartor or Doug Blayney at searchcommittee@stbedesmenlopark.org if you cannot attend any of the above dates or if you have questions.
Mask Maker, Mask Maker…
Make me a mask! When we return to in-person worship, it’s likely that we'll need to wear face coverings to protect the health of our community. If you can sew and have scrap fabric and elastic to donate, please consider stitching some face masks we can make available in church. Click here for a simple set of instructions.

Easter Readings: the Gospel of Matthew

Throughout the Easter season, the Good Book Club is offering daily readings from the Gospel of Matthew, a sure and faithful companion in uncertain times. Readings began on Easter Sunday and continue through Pentecost. Joining the Good Book Club is easy. Open your Bible and start reading! You also can visit their website to sign up for a weekly newsletter of readings.

Bede's Bedhead Book Club

The Bede’s Bedhead Book Club will meet again on Wednesday, April 29, 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. via Zoom. We will discuss In the Bleak Midwinter by Julia Spencer Fleming. This is the first book of a fun mystery series with recently ordained Episcopal priest, Claire Ferguson, solving crimes in her quaint upstate New York parish. The book is available at Amazon on Kindle and in hardback. To receive a Zoom invitation for either of these meetings, please contact Laura Gable at lwgable@hotmail.com.

Keeping Your Pledge Current

Those of you who wish to keep current with your pledge may mail a check to the church office or donate online. Although our church may be closed temporarily, our staff continues to work remotely and other overhead expenses must be met. Thank you for your continuing support of the parish.

COVID-19 Community Resources

Here are three community resources you may find helpful as you continue to shelter at home. Stanford Health Care has assembled an online resource center with information about COVID-19 including helpful FAQs about staying healthy. San Mateo County offers a comprehensive list of FAQs about the shelter in place requirements. And the City of Los Altos offers their list of fun activities to keep you busy while you shelter at home. Have a useful online resource to suggest? Drop us a note at office@stbedesmenlopark.org.

A prayer from the Corrymeela Community

We begin our day alone,
honouring this life, with all its potentials and possibilities.

We begin our day with trust,
knowing we are created for loving encounter.

We begin our day with hope,
knowing the day can hold
love, kindness,
forgiveness and justice.

We recall our day yesterday,
May we learn, may we live,
may we live on.

We make room for the unexpected,
May we find wisdom and life
in the unexpected.

Help up to embrace possibility,
respond gracefully to disappointment
and hold tenderly those we encounter.
Help us to be fully present to the day.

We pray for all whose day will be difficult,
May we support, may we listen,
may we change.

We resolve to live life to its fullness:
We will welcome the people who'll be part of this day.
We will greet God in ordinary and hidden moments.
We will live the life we are living.

May we find the wisdom we need,
God be with us.

May we hear the needs of those we meet,
God be with us.

May we love the life that we are given.
God be with us.
